Leadership Academy
ColumbiaCare values leadership qualities that enhance the care we provide. To ensure a consistent leadership team, we carefully select staff members for participation in the Leadership Academy. 
This program is for full-time employees who are solid in their existing position and are actively pursuing a management role at ColumbiaCare. If an employee is accepted into the Leadership Academy, a 6-month commitment to variable work and projects is required. Through the Academy, employees will receive training on the technical knowledge and leadership skills they will need as a member of the management team. Development plans are specifically designed to enhance strengths while helping them bridge the gap between current and required skills. 
“I feel that my entire experience in ColumbiaCare’s Leadership Academy has helped me be a successful Administrator in my own program. I doubt there is a day that goes by at work that I don’t recall or use some of the skills that I learned in this employee improvement program that CCS promotes. I am thankful for the time that our Training Program Manager and others have spent with me to help develop what I have today.” – Facility Administrator
 
“The Leadership Academy provided me with the opportunity to meet and collaborate with others on various assignments leading to a sense of belonging and overall team concept. In addition to the collaborative process, there was significant focus on soft skills, people styles, and ColumbiaCare’s management approach to understanding and supporting our staff. My experience with the Leadership Academy was positive and helped prepare me for increased responsibility within my ColumbiaCare position. It’s now been three years, and I have moved from an Assistant Administrator to the Eastern Oregon Regional Director providing oversight and support to several residential programs.” – Regional Director
 
“I think one of the main things that I took away from the Leadership Academy is the importance of getting out of your “comfort zone” because it is an amazing way to learn new things about yourself. The Training Program Manager zones in on each individual and develops a plan to maximize what they already know and develop skills that they may not know they had.” – Facility Administrator
